The 4th RF workshop 2016 of the Radio Frequency Engineering Working Group of Austrian Research Association (ÖFG) was held at 17. and 18. October 2016 in the Holiday Inn / Congress Center Villach (CCV).
Organized by the Josef Ressel Center “Interact” in close collaboration with the Institute of Microwave and Photonic Engineering (Graz University of Technology) the workshop became a successful event with more than 50 attendees from Vienna University of Technology, Graz University of Technology, Johannes Kepler University Linz and Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. Also a number of attendees from companies Intel, Infineon and Xtest reflected the practical relevance of the RF workshop.
A broad and interesting program has been presented spanning from Self Localisation Systems, Transmitter/Receivers, RF CMOS circuits to Radar Systems, Optical Communication Systems, Millimeter Waves and Measurements and Antennas.
Three invited lectures gave a deep insight for latest R&D activities in wireless communication industry:
- “RFIC for Next Generation WLAN – A System Approach“, S. Trautmann (Intel)
- “Radio Front-End Architectures and Circuits for Emerging Wireless Applications”, F. Dielacher (Infineon Technologies)
- “Multi-Mode RFDAC based TX Systems for Cellular Transceivers in Scaled CMOS Technologies”, D. Gruber (Intel)
